I agree that Donald is sometimes stupid, sometimes saving the whole town. 

In the Guardians story Donald is not Donald in my point of view, but a
picture of a modern
Tv-.watching American who doesn't read books or likes adventure, but likes
watching the 
same TV show for the 5th time knowing before it starts what will happen. 

I reread Super-Snooper yesterday and it really is great - that ending
makes my eyes wet.
