Timo asked for the meaning of some of the names used in Greece for some
characters.Below I give the original English name, the Greek name and its
meaning for some of those characters as well as some further explanations
were needed,

1)Sir Eider McDuck is called "Ser Leontokardos Mak Ntak".Leontokardos is the
Greek word for "Lionheart".Eider died fighting bravely so the translators
probably gave him a name suiting his bravery.

2)Sir Quackly McDuck is called "Ser Antrious Mak Ntak".It just means Sir
Andrews McDuck. The translators probably decided to give Quackly a more
respectable name.

3)Sir Stuft McDuck is called "Ser Plithon Mak Ntak"."Plithon" is an
antiquated greek word for Stuft while the one used since Renaisance is
"Gemistos".The translators might had in mind Georgios
Gemistos/Plithon(c1360-1452) a great Roman-Byzantine pagan philosopher.

4)Sir Roast McDuck is called "Ser Ampakous Mak Ntak".It is a pun from the
expression "He/she eats the abacus".The expression means that someone is
glutton.That describes the character.

5)Sir Swaphole McDuck is called "Ser Lagoudokardos Mak Ntak".Lagoudokardos
means "Rabbitheart".Greeks use this expression for great cowards.I don't
know why the translators chose this name for the character.

6)Malcolm McDuck is called "Sentoukis Mak Ntak".Sentouki in Greek means a
chest for clothes. This characters connection to a treasure chest is probably
the reason for the translation.

7)Pintail Duck is called "Mavrofteris Ntak".It means "Blackfeathered
Duck".It is a pun with the word "Mavrogenis" meaning "Blackbeard".Obvious
reference to the famous pirate.By coincidence Mavrogenis also happens to be
the last name of a famous Greek family whose 18th and 19th centurie members
include wealthy traders, high officials of the Othoman Empire, a ruler of
Wallachia and Moldavia, a heroine of the Greek Revolution(1821-1830) and
some, well known at their time, doctors, diplomats and politicians with Greek
citizenship.

8)Hugh "Seafoam" McDuck is called "Fourtounas Mak Ntak".It means "Stormy
McDuck".Fourtouna in greek means:1)heavy swell, 2)bad weather,storm 3)bad
luck, misfortune. The first two have to do with his carrier as a captain and
the last meaning with his misfortunes (remember he lost his ship and most of
his fortune).
