1st Scrooge McDuck in 1943????

The facts, to the best of my knowledge:

1) Barks was not involved in the production of Spirit of '43. This does
not exclude the possibility, of course, that he may have seen storyboard
sketches or the finished film.

2) Barks never made any reference to the cartoon when he talked about
the origins of Scrooge.

If the movie had any influence on the creation of Scrooge, it seems to
have been subconscious.
