>>>Hey, I was enjoyed the comic and the Don Rosa article about The Lost
Duchtman's mine. Hey Don, I think you'll would make some reference to the
Moebiu's Lt. Blueberry adventure with the same title and theme. I think that
you mention sometimes... I'm wrong?

Well, I think the editors wanted me to write only about my own story in that
text -- their space was limited. Otherwise I would have written at length
about the excellent 1949 Glenn Ford movie LUST FOR GOLD which was a very
entertaining story based on 100% accurate facts about the Lost Dutchman's
Mine, just as I attempted. But as to the Moebius BLUEBERRY "Lost Dutchman's
Mine" story, I would have been risking the usual wild misinterpretations
that are so prevalent (as you see!) if I'd said anything about it -- I
worship Moebius' western works and often refer to them for authentic visual
details when doing wild-western stories like that one and "The Three
Caballeros Ride Again". But I am quite puzzled by that "Lost Dutchman's
Mine" story by Moebius as it contains nothing in it that has any similarity
to any of the actual facts or legends of that famous American legend (other
than it taking place, I believe, in Arizona). I wonder if "Lost Dutchman's
Mine" is even the title of that story in Europe -- perhaps that was only the
title chosen by the American translators? I wouldn't expect a European
reader to recognize the name "Lost Dutchman's Mine", so I would wonder why
the authors would even want to use it, especially when the story had nothing
to do with the actual Mine. Nonetheless, Moebius' story was still superb!
