Donald strips

Hi

Are there any periods in the Donald Duck newspaperstrip where it worked 
like a story of some kind with a part each day, just like the Mickey 
Mouse version by Gottfredson with more ?

Or if not a complete story, then just themes like Donald driving his car 
doing silly things each day or something similar (like some nondisney 
strips like Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes work, just to mention a few)
