Thanks for the correction about Barks' heirs, and I
have no idea why I made that mistake in the first
place. Another correction is that Don was looking for
*Panamanian* soldiers' uniforms, not Mexican.
Steve, I would definitely consider you a comics
historian.
Thanks for the response, Don. Your comments about
entertainment were interesting. While I can
understand your feelings about cartoonists changing
people's lives, do you think Barks was purposefully
being a bit disingenous? AFter all, he knew and
worked for Walt Disney, possibly the most important
cartoonist of the 20th century and saw firsthand that
a cartoonist could affect people. Or did he see his
work as subsumed to the Disney machine, and not really
his?
