Thanks, Armando, for your post. Your theory that Il Gatto may have
been too ill-defined to be picked up and used by Pedrocchi's successors
sounds pretty plausible.

If Bartolomeo Circonlocuzioni was simply built to fill the role as "the
heroes' evil opponent", I can understand why the Italians didn't bother
to revive him after the War: They already had (Peg-Leg) Pete. I still
think this character can be useful, though. He just needs to be focused.

Here's something puzzling, though:

If you go onto COA and do a search for "Federico Pedrocchi", it seems he
drew some Minnie Mouse material in 1994 and 1995. Faulty indexing?
