Oswald's return to Disney

RICH WROTE:

If/when Oswald comes BACK to Disney, I also wonder if he will be in his own
universe or will share the Mickey & Donald universe, especially since Pete
was HIS arch-rival even before he was Mickey's (though Pete originated
before Oswald, having been part of Disney's ALICE COMEDIES).

Ironically, a return of Oswald will bump Mickey out of his notable Corporate
Iconic position (at least as far as History buffs are concerned... no one
seems to care about Pete's precidence... perhaps because he's a villain?).
Probably not since Mickey is MUCH better known (and beloved).

AND I CONTRIBUTE:

Here's a look at the new character design for Oswald (as well as a peek back
at his early Walter Lantz/Universal look):

The link goes to a notorious rumor mill site, so only the images themselves
can be trusted. Any suggestions you read there about Oswald's future or
John Lassiter's interest in the character are strictly conjecture, but it is
plain fact that toys of unknown characters do not sell well. Disney
certainly has something planned for lucky Oswald if the studio expects kids
to buy the toys.
