Incidentally, I read yesterday in an interview by SilverBulletsComicBooks
(  http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/features/115575049750191.htm )
that comics were even sometimes "folded in brown paper and stapled"
(presumably to keep them folded).
What a horrible thought....
