One of the notable issues in the license negotiations between Diamond and
Disney has been fulfillment of outstanding Gladstone subscriptions. It
doubtless goes too far to say that it's what has kept Disney at the
negotiating table, but it is an issue Disney, as licensor, would like to see
resolved. And if that's helped even in a small way to keep the ball rolling,
I have to think that's a good thing.

The bottom line: if Gemstone/Diamond secures a license, it will also secure
Gladstone's subscriber list. Maintaining it will then be Gemstone/Diamond's
business, and they'll have every reason to want to keep every subscriber
possible on board, happy, and most of all, informed.
